Recently, the global first set of “Super Capacitor + Accumulator” type hybrid power shunting locomotive, jointly developed by CRRC Times Electric, CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd together with Austrian Tecsol on the basis of Austrian federal railway Model 1063 power shunting locomotive, was officially launched.

In 2014, Austrian Federal Railways (OBB), Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Science and Technology decided to search for an electric-area-eliminated driving solution applicable to Austrian trunk lines’ power shunting locomotives. The “super capacitor + accumulator” hybrid power driving solution featuring low carbon, environmental-friendliness and sustainability, which was powered by CRRC Times Electric, was highly recognized by Austrian OBB and other European users because of its stable and mature AC drive control technology.

CRRC Times Electric is mainly responsible for development of traction inverter, auxiliary inverter and traction battery charger of the new locomotive. The products were delivered within 2 months since customer raised the demand. The project is another breakthrough of our products penetrating into the European developed market.
