On January 7, the new generation regional A-type train with a speed of 160km/h rolled off the line in Chengdu. The fully automatic train was jointly developed by CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd., Chengdu Rail Transit Group and CRRC Chengdu.

The train is the regional A-type train with the highest speed in China. It can connect with the Metro to achieve one-stop direct connection between “city center – city center”, completing the regional railway train portfolio.

The regional A-type train that can connect intercity and regional transit comprises crossover integrated multiple units featuring high speed and high comfort level, and complemented by the advantages of high passenger capacity and fast start/stop of regional trains, which helps to realize the integration of four networks. The combination of advanced technologies like 5G communication, autonomous driving and intelligent operation and maintenance leads the development of smart regional trains, while highlighting the Bashu Culture with its sources in 4500 years of urban civilization.

The collision performance has improved from 25km/h to 36km/h. Technologies like separation of internal and external networks for information safety, active obstacle detection, and fire protection design that meets the EN45545 standard are adopted, constructing a comprehensive safety system of the regional A-type train with a speed of 160km/h.
